Translator's note:
*The particle は 'ha' indicates an oppoisition. As opposed to the chain of hatred that seemed to last an eternity, you and I are not going to. Thus you and I not lasting for the same amount of time becomes the argument of the speaker to ask the 'you' person to show forgiveness of what happened in the past.
For clarification, the story of the lyrics seems to be that there is a war or there are wars (in plural) down on Earth. The you person passed away and is awaiting their partner, the I person. The I person has also just passed fighting in one of these wars and is now making their way in the afterlife to meet their beloved partner. They reunite and continue on their way to what I assume is Heaven or something similar. So it's a lovers reuniting in the afterlife kind of story.
